Cops With Cancer

Very rarely in the career of a police officer does he find himself in need of help from others. He takes an oath to serve and protect perfect strangers, sometimes at the cost of his own life. Never does he think that the day will come when he himself needs the help from those perfect strangers he swore to protect.  Commander Greg Goral of the Black Diamond Police Department finds himself in this very situation. 

Commander Goral is in a fight for his life. He has been battling cancer for the past three years, and he needs our help to continue this fight. This year the Boots and Badges sponsored by McGann Electric are teaming up with Cops with Cancer to help raise money for Commander Goral and his family by organizing a Police vs. Fire charity basketball game. In the past the game has raised over $25,000.00 which was entirely donated to the American Cancer Society. This year however is different. The cause has hit home, effecting not only Commander Goral and his family, but the small police department he works for, as well as the community in which he serves. 

On April 12, 2015 the Lawdawgs will take the court against the Enumclaw Fire Department Smoke Eaters in a battle for bragging rights, and possession of the Boots and Badges trophy. We ask you to team up with these civil servants by donating to Boots and Badges and Cops with Cancer. Your donation will go in its entirety to Commander Goral’s Cops with Cancer account to assist his family with mounting medical bills, and other expenses related to his fight against cancer. Commander Goral answered the call to become a police officer many years ago, and not once has he asked for anything in return. It is time we step up and help support him and his family in this very trying time.

This event will be a lot of fun for your whole family, while helping the Goral family. Boots and Badges will be held Sunday April 12, at the Enumclaw High School. Doors will open for pre game fun at 2 pm, lunch/snacks will be for sal...e, the band Tyranny Theory will be playing, raffle items and a 50/50 raffle. The opening ceremony will involve Auburn PD honor guard, and then the game will start, who will win this year, come out and join the fun to see, Police or Fire, they are both our hero's! There's a half time show also!!! We are asking for a suggested $10 per person donation and children under 10 free. Let's fill the stands, cheer on our local Fire Departments', and Police Departments and support Greg while having some fun. We will keep you updated as more details are worked out, some of the details I am really excited for, but we have to get them locked down first.
